I'll never forget the first time I sat in front of a properly calibrated reference display. The image wasn't louder. It wasn't brighter. It wasn't more colorful in the cheap, oversaturated way demo TVs use to grab your attention in a big-box store.
It was real.
Skin tones looked like skin. Shadows held detail instead of crushing to black. Sunlight on a character's face had warmth and weight. I was watching something I'd seen a hundred times before — and I was seeing it for the first time.
That moment is what Cinema Science exists to give to other people.
